The vegetable parterre makes good use of the old tennis court.
With two sides walled and a well established hornbeam hedge it is well protected from damaging winds.
There are four L shaped beds around the edges with four smaller square beds surrounding a sundial made by Kevin Karney of Monmouthshire.
The south facing wall is ideal for the trained apricots, pear, and blackberry we have planted. The east facing wall is covered with two varieties of cordon apple – Herefordshire Russet and Red Falstaff.
Beyond the vegetable area a large fruit cage has been constructed using recycled parts of the tennis fencing, allowing us to grow a variety of soft fruit.
